The Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD board of trustees approved a compensation increase for all employees for the 2026-27 school year during the June 4 board meeting.

In alignment with Texas HB 2, which incorporates state-funded salary increases for classroom teachers, librarians, counselors and nurses, these funds aim to help CFBISD attract and retain high-quality educators.

Trustees were presented with four compensation plan options and approved the district’s recommendation of option 4, which includes:

  • Classroom teachers, librarians, counselors, nurses, paraprofessionals and auxiliary staff: 2% of midpoint general compensation increase
  • Non-teaching TRS eligible positions: 1% of midpoint general compensation increase

Additionally, the plan increases special education teacher stipend ranges from $3,500 - $5,500 to support recruitment and retention. The updated pay structure, developed in partnership with Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), promotes market competitiveness, increasing CFBISD’s starting teacher salary to $63,200. Supplemental stipends for bus drivers and monitors, as well as years of service supplemental pay, will be revisited by Trustees in August.

The district is dedicated to reviewing the comprehensive compensation plan annually and updating it as needed to recruit new employees and remain competitive.
