Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of students in the CFB community all while enjoying benefits such as competitive pay, a family-friendly work schedule, and more? Then, CFB’s Student Nutrition Department wants you!

In CFBISD, our mission of “High Expectations for All” doesn’t stop when students leave the classroom. Our Student Nutrition Department employees ensure each and every child receives the meals they need to nourish their body and mind, helping them achieve success in and out of school.

“The children are the best part of my job,” said Jean Robbins, Student Nutrition field supervisor. “Their smiles make my day, and I have always felt like I’m helping to educate my community.”

Working in Student Nutrition is a fast-paced environment, with a busy, but fulfilling schedule.

“My schedule is the best part of my job,” said Maribel Marin, Riverchase Elementary cafeteria manager. “A typical day consists of office work, helping as a cashier for breakfast and lunch, and assisting my co-workers to make sure everything goes well.”

The daily schedule fits within a typical school day, allowing for staff to be there for their own families.

“I really enjoy the benefits of being off work on the holidays when my kids are out of school,” said Jennifer Ford, Newman Smith High School cafeteria manager. “It is great being off in time to pick them up from school every day.”

In addition to the great benefits and competitive pay, working in Student Nutrition provides a sense of community, both with the students and with other staff.

“Student Nutrition is more than just a job, it’s a family,” Ford said. “I could walk into any kitchen in the district and immediately be treated like I’d been working with them for years.”

Starting pay with the department is $13.19 hour, including a free lunch each workday. Health, vision, and dental benefits are available to all employees, as well as the opportunity to start directly in permanent positions working at one of CFB’s 34 campuses across Dallas, Carrollton, Farmers-Branch, Coppell and Irving, making this a great position for people living in the DFW area.

“I would absolutely recommend CFB to a friend looking for a job,” Marin said. “I love being able to work with a diverse staff and seeing almost every student on campus, every day.”
