Operation Warm and FedEx Provide New Coats to Students at Carrollton Elementary

On Nov. 7, students at Carrollton Elementary received brand new coats thanks to the partnership between FedEx and Operation Warm, a non-profit that works with organizations to provide brand-new, high-quality coats and shoes for children.

Each student was greeted by a volunteer who helped them try on a new coat. They were able to pick from a variety of colors and sizes.

“This is a big blessing for our kiddos,” said Monica Koen, Principal of Carrollton Elementary. “These coats are needed to set our kids up for winter.”

Operation Warm’s hashtag #MoreThanACoat symbolizes their mission to give each child a warm item to wear and a warm feeling of comfort.

Also on hand were volunteers from FedEx. The company recently completed its “50 by 50” goal. This initiative aimed to help 50 million people by the company’s 50th birthday on April 17, 2023.

“We love to do anything to help out the kids,” said Adrinie Freeman, FedEx volunteer. “We love to see them smile.”

“Being able to contribute to our community by delivering essentials that these kids need makes a difference,” said Melissa Oakley, FedEx volunteer.

This is the third Operation Warm event hosted by CFBISD this year, with Central and Blanton Elementary receiving items during the spring semester.
