1672 seniors crossed the stage on Saturday, May 25, as Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD celebrated its class of 2024 during four graduation ceremonies at the University of North Texas. Students and families from Creekview, Newman Smith, Ranchview and R.L. Turner high schools filled the UNT Coliseum to celebrate the momentous occasion.
"It's an honor to see our students reach this significant milestone," said Dr. Wendy Eldredge, CFBISD Superintendent. "Their achievements are a testament to their hard work, the unwavering support of their families and the dedication of our entire CFB staff. I am incredibly proud of the Class of 2024."
Graduates from the district’s Early College High School held at Dallas College, Brookhaven, participated in their ceremony earlier in the week. Combined scholarship awards from all five CFB high schools totaled nearly $23 million.
The district’s AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program was a major contributor to this year’s financial haul with 177 seniors earning 8 million in scholarship offers through the program. One highlighted offer within this class was a $479,000 scholarship to attend Wellesley College in the fall. AVID students also completed more than 5,000 community service hours, received 300 college acceptances and produced one valedictorian, one salutatorian and one Dell Scholar.
Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD wants to congratulate all of 2024 graduates. We wish you the best of luck on your next adventure.
