Long MS students experienced a unique learning day during the school's Hour of Code event Jan. 13.
Throughout the day, students engaged in one-hour coding activities facilitated by district digital learning specialists and campus staff. Various coding stations were set up around the campus that were designed to enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
“We were so proud to host this event,” said Tara Butler, Long MS STREAM specialist. “This significant opportunity allowed our students to complete hands-on activities and see the world of computer science from a whole new perspective.”
The Hour of Code is a global initiative that aims to introduce millions of students to computer science through one-hour coding exercises. The program seeks to demystify coding and demonstrate that anyone can learn the basics, regardless of their background or prior experience.
All Long MS students will receive certificates of completion for participating in the event, recognizing their dedication to exploring the digital world.
