Facilities Department Works Through Snowy Weather to Make CFBISD Safe

As many of us were hunkered down in our houses waiting for the unusual cold and snow to pass, the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District Facility Services Team was on the clock ensuring our schools were secure from the unprecedented weather conditions. All last week crews were at work fixing issues that arose due to the extreme cold temperatures.

Due to multiple weather issues, CFBISD schools and offices were closed from Monday, February 15, through Friday, February 19. Throughout last week, our CFBISD Facility Services Team continued to monitor the infrastructure of our buildings.

Several buildings experienced water line breaks and other damage. Our team worked tirelessly to make the repairs to open our schools and offices on Monday, February 22, for in-person learners and staff.

Thank you to our Facility Services Team for their extraordinary work during this crisis. CFBISD appreciates their commitment to ensuring our schools and buildings were safe and stable to reopen.
