Creekview Mock Trial Team Earns National Ranking at Yale University

The Creekview Mock Trial team returned from the Yale Bulldog Mock Trial Invitational with a 6th place national ranking, making it the highest-ranked Texas team at the prestigious competition.

The team, composed of attorneys Casey Brady, Sungmin Hong and Jackson Hyde along with witnesses Kelsea Hayes, Suzane Batada, Hannah Anderson and Rayli Lewis, competed against top teams from across the country. The students were presented with a personal injury case regarding a zip lining accident. Their coach, Brian Sheguit, led the young team to victory.

The team's individual award winners were Casey Brady and Sungmin Hong for Outstanding Attorney and Kelsea Hayes and Hannah Anderson for Outstanding Witness. Notably, Hannah Anderson also earned the National Championship Title as the top-scoring witness.

“We are very thankful for generous grants from the CFBISD Educational Foundation and the Dallas Bar Associations Business Litigation section,” said Jonathan Cartray, Law Academy Facilitator. “Without these contributions, we would have been unable to attend this competition.”

Following the competition, the team enjoyed sightseeing in New York City, visiting iconic landmarks such as Rockefeller Center and Times Square.
