As we continue to observe Attendance Awareness Month, we want to shine a spotlight on students who understand the importance of coming to school and getting involved. Creekview HS Junior, Arianna Beasley, shares how participating in school clubs and organizations can impact a student's attendance and mental health.
Beasley is a Junior Lieutenant on the Creekview Chevals dance team and spends time volunteering at local churches and food pantries. She was recently crowned National American Miss Texas Jr. Teen and is set to compete for the national title in in Orlando this November. Beasley is also in the process of creating a platform to raise awareness for mental health.
In an interview with CFBISD, Beasley discusses how mental health can influence attendance habits, and how getting involved in clubs and organizations can help students find a sense of purpose and community. She encourages teachers to make connections with their students, and support them in showing up for class.
