The Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Fine Arts Department celebrated the beginning of National Youth Art Month with an opening reception Feb. 25 at Carrollton Regional Medical Center.

The exhibit showcases artwork created by elementary through high school students from all CFBISD campuses. District officials, teachers, parents, students and community members attended the reception to commend these young artists.

"Our students receive many opportunities throughout the year to share their talent, and our faculty work tirelessly to support and mentor them," said Dawn Valentine, CFBISD coordinator of fine arts. "Together, our teachers and students do really remarkable things."

The gallery will remain on display at the medical center until March 17.

  

National Youth Art Month, promoted by the Council for Art Education, is typically observed in March. Additionally, the district will participate in the Texas Art Education Association's (TAEA) Big Art Day on March 6. The event aims to raise awareness of art education as a creative force in communities.
