The district held its Spanish Spelling Bee for sixth through eighth grade students on Feb. 15.
CFBISD middle schools held local spelling bees and advanced their top five spellings to the district bee.
The top three spellers from the district bee were:
- First place: Laurie Willhite - Perry Middle School
- Second place: Emmanuel Castañeda - Polk Middle School
- Third place: Cindy Montantes - Perry Middle School
The first place student from the district bee is advancing to the Region 10 Spelling Bee on March 28. Students who place at the Region 10 Spelling Bee then advance to the national competition.
