The Temporary Online Learning Option request form has closed.
Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD sent an announcement through ParentSquare to parents of students in kindergarten through sixth-grade announcing a temporary virtual learning option. The message is as follows:
In addition to in-person learning, Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD is offering a temporary online option beginning on August 25th through the end of the first grading period ending on October 15th. The CFBISD Online Option will be offered to students in Kindergarten through 6th grade, where COVID-19 vaccinations are not yet available.
This temporary learning solution allows students to engage in online learning utilizing CFBISD instructional resources in kindergarten through 6th grade. Instruction will follow the standard grade level CFBISD Scope and Sequence. This model does not resemble last year's online virtual learning where students directly interacted with a live teacher.
An essential part of this option will be the parent/guardian acting as the facilitator (or Home Learning Coach) and supporting their child's learning.
Parents must complete an on-line application for their student to apply for the CFBISD Online Option. View instructions to apply. The application window will open on Thursday, August 12th at noon and close by Sunday, August 15th at 11:59 p.m.
NOTE: Acceptance into the Online Option is based on availability at each grade level.
Parents will be required to attend an in-person Parent University Orientation session and learn how their student will navigate Seesaw (K-2) and/or Canvas/Google Classroom (3-6) to retrieve and submit assignments and content.
NOTE: Students whose parent/guardian cannot attend the in-person Parent University Orientation at their assigned time will not be allowed to participate in CFBISD’s Temporary Online Option.
Please register to attend an orientation. Each session will allow a max of 200 participants. Parents can list up to three children at the same time.
All sessions will take place at the Multipurpose Facility (455 E. La Villita Blvd, Irving, TX 75039)
Tuesday, 8/17 1:00 PM
Tuesday, 8/17 6:00 PM

As the school year gets underway, district leaders will continue to monitor the COVID-19 impact in the community and will stay in close contact with local and state health officials. Maintaining safe and healthy learning environments remains CFBISD's highest priority while focusing on providing meaningful learning opportunities for students. Working together will provide everyone the best scenario for continued success in the 2021-2022 school year.
