Athletics and AVID students at Barbara Bush MS in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD received a dose of inspiration on February 28th. The campus hosted a motivational speaking event featuring former NFL players, college athletes and coaches.
These accomplished individuals shared their personal stories and experiences, emphasizing the importance of hard work in achieving goals beyond high school. The students actively participated, asking questions and engaging with the speakers throughout the session.
"Thanks to Coach Harper we were able to bring in former college athletes to speak about their path to education, life after sports and real life advice for the future," remarked Micah Morris, Barbara Bush AVID Coordinator. "Students walked away with applicable life advice from people who have been in their shoes before. We are so grateful to have people from our community willing to pour back into our Broncos."
The event also included a breakout session specifically for AVID students. Divided into smaller groups, they had the chance for more personal interaction with the speakers, allowing them to ask focused questions and delve deeper into the speakers' journeys.
