Cleaning and Disinfecting

Maintaining a safe and healthy environment is a top priority in our schools. The district will continue cleaning all facilities daily, with particular attention given to high-use areas such as door handles, knobs, and buttons. We will utilize safe and effective products that comply with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommendations. Cleaning and disinfection will be following Department of Environmental Health and Safety Standard Operation Procedures and DCHHS recommendations.

The district will continue to utilize disinfectant spraying systems and microfiber cloths to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Classroom teachers will be able to leave out any items they want to be disinfected, including computer keyboards, math manipulatives, books, etc., which will allow us to minimize the transmission of germs. This routine disinfection complies with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines regarding disinfecting facilities and will enable students to engage in classroom activities. The Operations team will continue to work closely with nursing staff and campus administration to respond to campus-specific needs and concerns as we move into the 2022-2023 school year.
