Robotics
The goal of the competitive robotics program in CFB is to offer students opportunity to build skills that will be beneficial from the present through their future careers. Robotics builds self-confidence and resilience as they work with a team to solve complex problems. Students must utilize professionalism and ethics to explain their designs and processes. Competitive robotics is so much more than building a robot, but also requires applying knowledge of math, science, reading, writing, public speaking, and engineering. Involvement in a robotics program sets students up for future success no matter what their chosen path may be.
Just one of the many benefits to participating in robotics includes having the opportunity to advance to VEX World competitions, where approximately 40 million dollars in scholarships are awarded each year.
In addition to this, students must use problem solving, critical thinking skills, teamwork, and perseverance to build a suitable robot and compete against other students. These skills are highly sought after skills in the workforce. Participating in robotics prepares students for any challenges that might come their way in life or in their future careers.
In CFB, we are working to build these skills in students from elementary through middle school and high school.
Students can get connected to a team by checking with their campus robotics coach, or ask their Principal. Schools who currently have robotics teams are:
