Optional Device Insurance Information
CFBISD has identified the need to offer optional device insurance to students/families to ensure the sustainability and maintenance of the technology resources provided as part of the district’s 1:1 program. As the district continues integrating digital tools into their curriculum, the cost of acquiring, upgrading, and repairing these devices becomes significant. Device insurance may help families offset any expenses incurred from damages, ensuring that all students have access to up-to-date and functioning technology necessary for modern learning environments..
What does the device insurance cover?
"This fee covers accidental loss and damage of the property as defined in the terms of the CFBISD 1:1 Student/Parent Handbook. Coverage includes warranty, support, maintenance and accidental damage protection for one school year." (Device Usage Fee Terms)
How will payment be collected?
Payment will be collected using RevTrak. No cash options are available at this time.
How much is the device insurance?
Device insurance is a one-time, non-refundable payment of $30. There are no discounts or scholarships available at this time.
What if I don't want to purchase device insurance?
If device insurance is not purchased, students/families will be responsible for the full replacement cost of any damages incurred throughout the school year. Replacement cost amounts can be found in the Device Use Agreement and the 1:1 Student/Parent Handbook.
