CTE Programs of Study (POS) Enrollment & Transfer Information

Campus Enrollment

Selecting a POS as a Rising 9th: During the PGP process, students select their POS which determines the HS campus they will be attending.  No transfer request is needed.  If the POS is not at the campus of their home-attendance zone, the next year’s campus information within our Student Information System will be updated to reflect that new campus.

POS Decision After 9th Grade:  Students may select a new POS after their 9th grade year.  They will need to contact their counselor to discuss changing POS’s.  This program move does not require a transfer application.

ROTC: This is still a transported program so students can remain at their chosen campus without enrolling as a Creekview student if they choose to participate in this program.  Buses will pick up from the other schools to transport to CHS for the class and back to the home campus.  This is the only program a student may stay enrolled at their home-attendance zone campus and attend a class elsewhere.

All other POS: The student must be enrolled at the campus of the POS in which they participate.  Bus transportation will be provided from the student’s home-attendance zone campus to each POS campus.  **NOTE: Students do not “have to” select a POS.  If they wish to stay at their home-attendance zone campus and participate in non-POS courses, there is no other action necessary.  However, if they want to attend a campus other than their home-attendance zone campus and not participate in a POS, they do need to apply for a transfer to that other campus.

Transportation: Requests for bus services are completed in the online enrollment process.  Parents are also permitted to contact Transportation directly to determine the bus route and the pickup and drop off locations. Students who are transferring from out of district, will not be eligible for transportation. Parents can call the transportation department at 972.968.6320 or email them at cfbbusroutes@cfbisd.edu

Transfers & UIL Eligibility

Students who live outside of CFBISD are not eligible for UIL Varsity for one year regardless of when they enter a school.  Students who live in CFBISD are eligible for UIL Varsity at the campus they began their 9th grade as an enrolled student.

  • Rising 9th grade students who begin at their home-attendance zone campus, regardless of participation in a POS offered at that campus, are eligible for UIL Varsity.  In later years, if they choose to participate in a POS offered at another campus, they would be enrolled at that campus and would be considered not eligible for UIL Varsity for one year.
  • Rising 9th grade students who begin at a HS campus for which they are not home-attendance zoned for a POS and then stop that POS later in their years at that campus would need to apply for a transfer to stay at that campus.  Although this labels the students as “regular transfers” at that point, because they began in the POS as a 9th grader at that campus, they continue to be eligible for UIL Varsity.
  • Rising 9th grade students who begin at a HS campus for which they are not home-attendance zoned for a POS, stop that POS later in their years and return to their home-attendance zone campus are not eligible for UIL Varsity participation at their home campus for one year.
  • Current 9th-11th grade students who move to a different campus for a POS offered there or as a regular transfer student are not eligible for UIL Varsity for one year.
