The Fire Academy was created in conjunction with Carrollton Fire Rescue. Classes are taught by a Carrollton Firefighter so students will learn first-hand about fire rescue. Students who join the Fire Academy will have the opportunity to take dual credit classes at a local community college starting their junior year and they can earn their Basic Firefighter Certification and their Emergency Medical Technician Certification. After they turn 18 and graduate from the program, they will be eligible to be hired by local fire departments. Students will receive hands-on training and ride alongs with the fire department during their four years in the program.
