Project Information

The projects shown below were recommended by the Citizen’s Bond Planning Committee following six months of evaluation and prioritization. After hearing the committee’s recommendation, the Board of Trustees voted unanimously to include these projects in the budget for the May 2023 bond proposal. The total bond package is $716,440,000 and builds upon the renovation and rejuvenation work that began with the 2018 bond election.

Safety and Security
$37,700,000

Safety and security projects include state-mandated updates as well as additional security systems and safety measures. These projects are planned for every school in CFBISD.

Student Support Facilities
$130,000,000

Student support facility projects include classroom and restroom updates to special education areas at 25 campuses, early childhood classrooms at 7 elementary schools, as well as strategic updates to Career and Technical Education (CTE) spaces, fine arts, and PE/athletic areas.

Replacement Schools
$199,550,000

The bond proposal includes funds to replace three of CFBISD’s oldest elementary schools as well as a new, combined campus for Mary Grimes and Bea Salazar which house a number of programs designed to support students through graduation and vocational, life skills programs.

Renovations & Updates
$349,190,000

Renovations and updates include plans to refresh restrooms, libraries, offices, cafeterias, and classrooms throughout the district.

  • Refreshes include a finish refresh to walls, flooring, and ceilings.

  • Renovations are more complex and could include relocating a wall, changing the size of the space, updating finishes, and/or replacing building systems or major components.

In addition, updates include expanding the district’s technology infrastructure and redundant network, ensuring CFBISD can stay online in the event of a fiber cut or emergency.
