Taxpayers have the option to pay by Credit Card, ECheck, cash or personal check, We accept American Express, Discover,  Mastercard and Visa. Please note that there is a 3% fee charged on Discover, Mastercard and Visa credit/debit card payments. There is a 4% fee charged for American Express. Echeck payments will have a $5.00 fee. ECheck payments must be made online. To make a payment over the phone with a credit card, please call 972-797-9002.  Fees still apply.

You may view your statement and pay online.

Between October 1 and January 31, please use the yellow envelope included with your tax statement with a mailing address of P.O. Box 208227 Dallas, TX 75320-8227.  This is the address of our bank’s payment processing center.  This is an automated process for checks and coupons only. Do not include correspondence with payments. Any payments mailed to this address after January 31 will experience a delay in payment postings. After January 31, please mail payments to PO Box 110611 Carrollton, TX 75011-0611.

Payments may be made in person at the office during our office hours. We accept payments by Credit Card, cash and check in the office.  When paying in cash, we only accept exact change.

Appraisal notices will be sent to all taxpayers by the appraisal district responsible for appraising your property.  For Dallas County residents, it would be Dallas Central Appraisal District.  For Denton County residents, it would be Denton Central Appraisal District.  Your notice includes the value of your property, the estimated amount of taxes for the tax year and any exemptions that you applied for prior to this mailing.   If you have any questions about your notice please contact your appraisal district:

About Your Tax Statement
Tax Statements are being mailed at the beginning of October. If you have an escrow account with your mortgage company the mortgage company will receive a bill. All other bills are sent to the homeowner. If you would like a copy for yourself you may print one off this web site. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

The tax statement covers taxes from January 1 through December 31. Payment is due to us no later then January 31. A postmark of January 31 is acceptable. Payments postmarked February 1 and later will be assessed penalty and interest.

We suggest that you have the post office hand stamp the date on your envelope to insure a January 31 postmark. The same applies for the end of each month thereafter.

Exemptions
Homestead Exemption
In order to qualify for a homestead exemption you must own and reside in the property you are applying for.  Applications may be obtained from your appraisal district.

Disability Exemption
A person with a disability may apply for an exemption. You must first qualify for the General Residential Homestead Exemption (above). A freeze ceiling will be placed on your taxes beginning the year your exemptions are granted. Please contact your appraisal district for more information.

Over-65 Exemption
If you are 65 years of age or older, you need not own your home on January 1st. You qualify for the over-65 exemption as soon as you turn 65, own the home, and live in it as your principal residence. A freeze ceiling will be placed on your taxes beginning the year your over-65 exemption is granted. Please contact your appraisal district for more information.

Installment Payments for Disabled Persons and Over-65 Taxpayers
If you have a disabled exemption or an over 65 exemption you are eligible to pay your taxes in installments without penalty or interest. Please contact the Tax Office for more information.

Tax Deferral
If you are 65 years of age or older or are disabled and the property is your residence homestead, you should contact the Appraisal District regarding any entitlement you may have to a postponement in the payment of your taxes.
