2023
TEA released Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD’s 2023 District and Campus Ratings, announcing the district’s rating of a high C (78) on April 24, 2025. The 2023 Accountability Ratings reflect data from the 2022-23 school year. CFB saw success in student achievement, accounting for a 5% increase. Ratings also showed the main area of need is to continue providing high-quality resources to our teachers.
The 2023 ratings have been delayed for almost two years due to litigation over grading criteria changes made mid-year by the Commissioner.
Summary of 2023 mid-year changes to calculation methodology:
- District ratings are now calculated by weighting each campus’s rating based on its third through 12th-grade enrollment.
- College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) standards were updated to require high schools to send 88% of their seniors to college, a trade or technical school, or the military, compared to 60% in the past.
- The method in which academic growth calculations are scored and categorized was significantly changed in the School Progress domain.
- Performance targets for student groups in the Closing the Gaps domain were revised.

TAPR
Prepared and released by Texas Education Agency (TEA) annually, the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) details academic performance, financial reports, and information about staff, programs, and demographics for the district and each campus.
TAPR academic performance includes information on STAAR test results and participation rates. The report disaggregates performance on state and national assessments across fourteen student groups based on race/ethnicity, socio-economic status, and program services.
Within Postsecondary Readiness, TAPR combines attendance, dropout and graduation rates, along with course completion rates for students earning advanced/dual credit, completed career and technology (CTE) coherent sequence, and Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate (AP/IB) prior to high school graduation. Additional information on postsecondary enrollment is also provided under Postsecondary Outcomes.

School Report Card
The School Report Card (SRC) is prepared and released by Texas Education Agency (TEA) annually. SRC combines accountability ratings, data from the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), and financial information to give a broad view of campus performance. Available for each campus in Texas, the SRC is intended specifically to inform parents and guardians about a school’s individual characteristics and its academic performance.
School and student information provides demographic data about the campus, including attendance rates; enrollment percentages for various student groups; student mobility rates; and class size averages at the campus, district, and state level, where applicable.
Parents can find Texas school report cards through the Texas Education Agency (TEA) website or by searching on TXSchools.gov. These sites provide official state and federal report cards that detail a school's characteristics and performance."
