CFBISD recognized Ms. Andrea Allen as the CFBISD Volunteer of the Year at the April 7, 2022 School Board Meeting.
Ms. Allen is the Founder and CEO of a local non-profit, Connecting the Community, and has served in the community for over 10 years. She is a graduate of Newman Smith High School and lives in Carrollton.
Andrea has a passion for helping students thrive in school and life. In 2020, Andrea approached the district about starting a Pen Pal Mentor Program for elementary students which led to the current partnership in place at CFBISD today. Connecting the Community recruits and manages volunteers and mentors to serve in a way that works best for the volunteer and ultimately meets the needs of our students and staff.
