Setting the Standard: CFBISD Leads with Two Ribbon Schools

CFBISD is proud to be the only North Texas district with two schools, Kent and Rosemeade Elementary, named 2025 Lone Star Ribbon Schools. This distinction was awarded to just 26 campuses statewide. This prestigious honor, awarded through the inaugural Lone Star Ribbon program, highlights outstanding academic achievement and success in closing achievement gaps. It reflects CFBISD’s strong commitment to excellence for every student.

The Largest NASA HUNCH Program in North Texas

At Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, innovation isn’t just encouraged, it’s built into the student experience. As home to the largest NASA HUNCH Program in North Texas, CFB gives students the rare opportunity to design, create, and contribute to real-world aerospace projects in partnership with NASA. This hands-on program empowers learners to apply STEM skills in meaningful ways, preparing them for future careers while working on solutions that extend beyond the classroom and even beyond our atmosphere.

Access for All: Kickstart Kids in Every Middle School

Student growth goes beyond academics—it’s about shaping strong, confident individuals during the moments that matter most. As one of only three districts in North Texas to offer the Kickstart Kids Program at every middle school, CFBISD invests in students during a critical stage of identity development. Through a curriculum rooted in community, achievement, and healthy lifestyles, Kickstart Kids builds a foundation of character—instilling discipline, responsibility, kindness, respect, courage, dedication, honesty, and loyalty—equipping students to make positive choices and lead with purpose both in and out of the classroom.

Award Winning Animation Program

Creativity meets career-ready learning through one of Texas’ top high school animation programs at R.L. Turner High School. What began as a single course has grown into a state-recognized program, earning multiple UIL state championships—including back-to-back titles for original student-produced films.

Through the district’s Academy of Media Arts & Technology (AMAT), students gain hands-on experience in digital animation, storytelling, and production using industry-relevant tools and collaborative workflows. From concept to final cut, learners develop technical skills and creative confidence while producing award-winning work that competes, and wins, at the highest level.

CFBISD’s animation program doesn’t just teach students how to create, it prepares them to lead in the rapidly growing media and digital arts industries.
