Creekview High School choir director Kelly Pfaffenberger was named the recipient of TCDA’s (Texas Choral Directors Association) Choral Excellence Award.

This prestigious award recognizes Pfaffenberger’s significant contributions to choral music in Texas, her mentorship and inspiration to colleagues and students and her ongoing advocacy for the future of choral singing. She was the sole recipient of the 2024 award, which was announced at the recent TCDA Convention in San Antonio.

“We are so fortunate to have such amazing arts educators in CFBISD,” said Mark Rohwer, Director of Fine Arts. “Congratulations to Ms. Pfaffenberger on this outstanding achievement.”

Pfaffenberger has taught in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD for 21 years. 

“Mrs. Pfaffenberger is incredible at what she does,” said Leon Sulak, Creekview High School Principal. “She is highly regarded amongst the staff in our campus, district and across the state. We are so thankful that the students at Creekview are able to benefit from her expertise, passion and support.”

Several students that have gone through Creekview’s choir program have been positively impacted by Mrs. Pfaffenberger and her teachings. 

“Mrs. Pfaff is a teacher, mentor, counselor and so much more,” saud Jannette Amesquita Lemus, Creekview Choir Student. “She’s always smiling, has a positive attitude and offers wisdom and advice. She cares so much for her students, and you can tell she loves what she does. Her positive attitude and love of music made me fall in love with choir.”
