Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD is proud to announce that two district schools were recognized as the first-ever 2025 Lone Star Ribbon Schools. Kent and Rosemeade elementary schools are among just 26 public schools in Texas that received this distinction, with CFBISD being the only North Texas district with multiple schools recognized. 

“These schools represent the very best of Texas public education,” said Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath. “This recognition reflects the hard work of our teachers, the perseverance of our students, and the steadfast support of parents and communities.”

The inaugural Lone Star Ribbon program arises as a result of the U.S. Department of Education’s transition of the National Blue Ribbon Schools program to state leadership. The award recognizes the outstanding academic performance and progress these schools have made in closing achievement gaps and honoring excellence in Texas education.
