During the April board meeting, Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD trustees received an update on the progress of 2023 Bond projects, marking a transition into the next phase of districtwide improvements.
Trustees reviewed the status of active construction, key renovation projects and ongoing safety and security upgrades across the district. While several projects are already underway, activity will increase this summer, with construction planned at 20 CFBISD campuses.
Among those projects currently underway is a major CTE classroom renovation at Creekview High School. Construction recently finished installing the rear chassis and enclosed cab of an ambulance, customized for the district’s EMT program. Students will gain real-life experience in a real-life space. Specialized equipment storage is also being developed for pieces common to the EMT trade — backboard, straps, stretchers, cylinders, mannequins, etc.
The update also highlighted major milestones for replacement schools approved by voters in the 2023 Bond. Carrollton Elementary, which recently held its groundbreaking ceremony, was featured as a key example of this work. Construction on the replacement Farmers Branch Elementary will begin this summer at its current site, continuing the district’s investment in modern learning environments for future generations of CFBISD students.
