Dear Families, Students, and Staff,
CFBISD has been informed that funding will not be available from the legislature for a district-wide Virtual Academy. Due to this lack of legislative support, we are unable to move forward with the Virtual Academy for the 2021-2022 school year. Our district has spent the last 6 months heavily invested in gathering input from families and staff, along with implementing multiple planning teams to work on the launch of a Virtual Academy. We know that there is a need for an online learning option for some of our families; however, we are not able to provide that option without the support from our Legislature and TEA.
We want to thank you for your patience and flexibility as we continuously strive to meet the needs of every student in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. We will continue to send updates via Parent Square and our district page (cfbisd.edu) as we receive them from TEA.

Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD takes pride in offering innovative school programming and school choice! CFBISD continues its commitment to offering innovative learning opportunities for our students. As we continue to monitor the decisions of the Texas Legislature and TEA, we are making plans to open our CFBISD Virtual Academy in the 2021-2022 school year. We are excited to move forward with the planning of this unique virtual learning opportunity designed specifically for students who have demonstrated success in an online learning environment.
