More than 70 Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD retirees gathered on Nov. 8 at the Nancy Watten Technology and Event Center for the district’s annual Retired School Personnel luncheon.
Guests enjoyed a fall-themed event decorated with items from CFBISD high school art students and a Thanksgiving lunch. The luncheon serves as an opportunity for the district to thank retirees for their contributions to CFBISD and to stay connected with each other after retirement.
“We are so grateful for our retired school personnel and it is an honor to serve them,” said Dr. Wendy Eldredge, Superintendent of Schools.
Guests were treated to multiple performances by CFBISD fine arts students. Performance groups included the Perry MS jazz ensemble, Central ES orff ensemble, Newman Smith Gallery in Motion Dance Company and the Creekview HS Legends show choir.
During the program, Dr. Wendy Eldredge gave remarks and asked the retirees about their favorite holiday traditions. Current CFBISD principals served apple and pumpkin desserts to guests during the program.
“During this special season of Thanksgiving, it’s heartwarming to see our retired personnel’s continued dedication to our students, staff and schools,” Eldredge said. “They are such an integral part of our CFB family.”
