Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD recognized Just Because as the 2023-24 Volunteer of the Year at its April 4 school board meeting.
Just Because, a local nonprofit founded by Krissy Sarine-Van Brunt, aims to spread kindness without an agenda and provide essential items to students and families. The organization regularly supplies CFBISD students with hygiene kits, food, socks, underwear and more.
“Just Because is passionate about removing obstacles that impede our students’ learning,” said Katrina Spottsville, CFB Community Relations Coordinator. “Through their unwavering efforts, Just Because is impacting numerous CFBISD students and families.”
Krissy and her team operate from her home in Farmers Branch, filling critical needs for the district. Just Because is also a founding donor of the CFB Giving House.
“We are so thankful for all of our volunteers who serve in CFBISD,” Spottsville said. “We appreciate the countless hours they contribute to improving our district.”
