CFBISD Giving House reopens in new, expanded facility to serve hundreds of students

For many students, success in the classroom starts with meeting their basic needs. Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District reopened its Giving House this week in a larger, newly renovated space to better support students with essential resources.

The CFB Giving House provides hundreds of students with food, clothing, school supplies, and hygiene essentials, ensuring every child has the foundation they need to focus on learning. The facility is now located at the Educational Services Division Complex (ESDC).

Led by Director of Student Services Liz Binion, the Student Services team celebrated the re-grand opening with an open house on Thursday, Oct. 30. The event was attended by school board members, district staff and community partners.

“This initiative exemplifies the district’s unwavering commitment to the holistic well-being and academic success of every child,” Binion said. “This new facility will serve as a vital support hub to help our students thrive.”

The expanded facility significantly improves both capacity and efficiency. Campus counselors now have easy access to the exact inventory of available items, allowing them to quickly request specific resources for students.

The new Giving House is a collaborative effort between CFBISD’s Facility Services team and community partner Closet Karma. It reflects the district’s ongoing commitment to educating the whole child and building a foundation for every student’s success.
