CFBISD breaks ground on new Carrollton Elementary campus

Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD marked a major milestone Tuesday morning with the groundbreaking of the new Carrollton Elementary School. The ceremony, held next to the school’s current site, brought together district leadership, including Superintendent Wendy Eldredge and members of the CFBISD Board of Trustees, as well as elected officials, construction partners and school representatives.

"We are so excited about the new Carrollton Elementary and the dynamic learning environment it will offer our students," Eldredge said. "This campus is designed to spark curiosity and innovation, giving our students a space where they can truly explore, learn and grow. We are deeply grateful to our community for their support in making this project a reality."

As part of the voter-approved 2023 Bond, the new school will replace aging infrastructure with a modern facility designed for 21st-century learning. The campus will feature learning-centered spaces where students and staff feel safe and experience a strong sense of belonging, along with modernized classrooms, updated technology and furniture, enhanced safety and security, new playgrounds and a storm shelter.

During the ceremony, Principal Monica Koen recognized the heart of Carrollton Elementary: its students, teachers and staff.

“I am lucky to be part of such a special school community—one that includes staff members who have called this school home for many years,” she said. “Our new building will reflect the culture, dedication and love you’ve poured into this school.”

The groundbreaking marks a new chapter for the school, which has served thousands of students since the district’s inception.

Construction is expected to continue through 2027, with the district prioritizing a seamless transition for students as the new facility is built on the historic site.
