Yes.  However, families requesting a transfer are not eligible for CFBISD transportation to or from their requested school. Even though notification of the decision for most transfers is within 60 days, due to space limitations and/or teacher allocations, some requests may not be eligible for consideration until the beginning of the school year. Transfers are not considered after the start of the semester, except in extenuating circumstances.

Yes, enrollment caps at each campus will be based on factors including space, enrollment capacity, and the number of programs offered. After the early registration period ends on May 23, 2025 the final enrollment cap figures will be established.

Based on state guidelines, bus transportation is offered to families that reside 2-or-more miles away from their attendance area school. Transportation routes can also be added if a route is less than two miles but determined to be hazardous—factors such as construction or other barriers that prohibit safely walking or biking come into consideration.

Yes, if we get the approval from the City of Carrollton. We are hoping for a full-time crossing guard contract that will guarantee coverage through the City of Carrollton. 

We will adhere to the TEC guidelines student-teacher ratio of 22:1 for Prek to 4th grade.  There are no state requirements past 4th grade but we try to keep our ratios as low as possible.

The attendance in the rezoned areas will be based on addresses.  After the board vote on March 6, we will update our online school locator which will tell you which school your address is zoned for. 

It is likely that it will be held at Long this summer.  We are currently looking into where this program will continue after this summer.

The rezoning will take place in the 2025-2026 school year if approved by the board of trustees at the board meeting on March 6.

Families of students receiving special education services who are impacted by school consolidations and/or new attendance zones will receive new campus information by March 14. The Special Services Department will be available to provide support to any families who have questions or need assistance.

Students will turn in their devices at the end of the school year. The devices will be reconfigured for the new campus and re-issued in the fall.
