Our Mission is to work with students, families, schools and community resources to enrich a student's success in school.

Cultural Ambassador Program

The Cultural Ambassador Program was created in an effort to welcome and capture the families that are new to the U.S. These families are not familiar with the U.S. school system, the U.S. culture, or with the resources available to them. They often speak little or no English.

When a new family arrives from abroad into the school district, they are sent a welcome packet with information on district and community resources (ESL adult classes, public library application, C-FB resources, 211 info, etc.). A letter in English, Spanish or Korean is included, and the family can receive a welcome call in their native language from a parent volunteer if they wish. They can also choose to have a short introductory meeting with the teacher, and an interpreter will be provided them if necessary.

Most campuses participate in this program. If you need further information, please call Georgina Tezer at 972-968-6513 or e-mail at tezerg@cfbisd.edu.
