| Attendance Policy |
| School Attendance is NOT a choice. It is the LAW! |
| The teachers, administrators,
and staff of Janie Stark LOVE children.
We particularly love YOUR children and want what is best for them. We feel that coming to school everyday and growing socially, emotionally, and intellectually IS what's best for them. Therefore, it is important that your child attends school each and everyday that classes are held! |

| If your child is absent
from school for more than 16 days,
he/she may not be promoted to the next grade level! |
| *Schedule doctor's appointments for before/after school hours. |
| *Do not take extended vacations while school is in session. |
| *Get students to school on time and do not pick them up before dismissal. |
| *Keep a student home when ill or running a fever. |
| *Inform office personnel and teacher when an absence cannot be avoided. |

| When an absence occurs, a parent/guardian must contact the school by telephone on the day of the absence. |
| Additionally, a written note must be provided to the school within five days of the absence. |
| Include the following information in the written note: |
| *full legal name of student
*reason for absence *date of absence *telephone number at which parent/guardian can be reached *parent/guardian signature (note signed by student will NOT be accepted) |
| A student who must leave school during the day must bring his/her teacher a note that morning. |
| A child who is going home in a manner other than normal MUST bring his/her teacher a note that morning. |
