COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS DALLAS, INC.
(C.I.S.) is a non-profit organization operating year-round to provide
services for students and their families.
THE MISSION: To champion the
connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people
successfully learn, stay in school, and prepare for life.
WHAT C.I.S. DOES AT MONTGOMERY PRIMARY:

Serve as mentors or tutors to individual students
-
Recruit mentors/volunteers to work one-on-one with
students
-
Facilitate small groups of students
-
Hold "Homework Club" three days a week after school
-
Make home visits to communicate with parents and/or
increase parental involvement
-
Provide referrals and resources for needs in such
areas as medical, dental, and other crises.
