Student Assessments

There are four testing structures used by the district to assess students' academic progress.

  • Classroom assignments, tests and quizzes District benchmark tests State mandated tests
  • National tests

The Research, Planning and Evaluation department is responsible for managing and reporting all results of all state and national tests. The Division of Curriculum and Instruction is responsible for the managing, implementing and reporting the results of the district benchmark tests. The Division of Curriculum and Instruction is responsible for policies and procedures related to classroom grading practices and report cards as well as providing support services to insure strong consistent student achievement in all assessments.

Classroom Assessments, Tests, Quizzes, and District Benchmark Tests

Traditional assessment instruments and the district benchmarks are monitored by campus administrators and by the district's Division of Curriculum and Instruction.

The district benchmark tests are systematically administered periodic tests that measure classroom's and campuses' appropriate implementation of the state and district curriculum and measure individual student progress in understanding the taught curriculum. The district benchmark test are designed, produced and evaluated by the district's Curriculum and Instruction Department.
