Nationally Normed Ability Tests
Stanford 10 For over 80 years, the Stanford Achievement Test Series has offered state-of-the-art measures of student progress toward meeting high academic standards. The Stanford 10 multiple-choice assessments assist educators in finding out what students know and are able to do in relationship to students throughout the nation. Educators obtain reliable data to evaluate progress toward meeting rigorous state and national content standards. Teachers use this data to assist in identifying children who are at risk of being left behind. Parents are provided information regarding their childrens academic strengths and weakness. A special reading index, the Lexile score, is reported to each home to improve the communication of achievement and to assist parents as they select appropriate reading materials for the home.
The Stanford 10 questions mirror as closely as possible the developmental process of good instruction and the kinds of instructional activities and materials used in exemplary programs. This standards-based, norm-referenced assessment system provides:
- Valid, reliable, research-based assessments
- Objective measures of student achievement
- Assessment of higher-level thinking
- Reports for monitoring progress toward high expectations
