Cultural Ambassador Program

The family receives a welcome packet at the school with an introductory letter (available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean and Urdu), and information on the school, the community, the public library and other useful resources. Included also is a DVD with 20-minute presentations in the five languages mentioned above, explaining the possible cultural differences and parent expectations in the U.S. from the viewpoint of each culture.

The newly-arrived family can choose to receive a welcome call in their heritage language from one of our Ambassadors, and we can arrange a brief, personal welcome meeting with the teacher. An interpreter will be provided if needed.
