Secondary School Programs
Several Secondary School Programs that the Student Assistance Program provides is in one of several categories. These prevention programs fit into either Drug/Alcohol Prevention or Violence Prevention.
6-12: Drug Education information/prevention is integrated into the Health & PE Curriculum. DAVE is presented and taught.
9-12: Student Assistance Counselors are assigned to high school campuses. They provide crisis/violence intervention services to all grades throughout the district.
6-12: Peer Mediation, school teams facilitated by trained staff.
6-12: Schools provide various community service projects.
6-12: Character Education, C-FB ISD Curriculum.
6-8: Lion's Quest, includes drug, violence prevention, and character education.
6-12: Identification & Referral, support program for Violence & Drug Prevention.
6-12: Crisis Counseling & Violence/Drug Intervention-Assessment/Referral.
9-12: Individual & group sessions are held by Student Assistance Counselors for identified needs.
6-12: Red Ribbon Week Campaign Activities, Violence Prevention Activities throughout the year.
6-12: Surveys-Texas Drug Survey (biannually), provided by Texas A&M. Violence Prevention survey.
6-12: Youth Leadership Training: Service Groups, Student Council, PAL, Metrocrest and Farmers Branch Youth Leaderships, ROPES courses.
