| Governor Perry and Other Lawmakers Visit R. L. Turner's METSA Academy |
Governor Rick Perry, along with several other lawmakers, visited the Math, Engineering, Technology and Science Academy (METSA) at R. L. Turner High School. The Governor ceremonially signed House Bill (HB) 3. Students and staff from METSA and Turner shared their passion for college and career readiness, an important component of HB 3. Dr. Sheila Maher, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, shared the commitment that the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District has made to preparing students to be competitive and innovative leaders in the 21st Century Marketplace.
