Texas
Assessment of Knowledge and Skills
(TAKS)
2007 Spring Administration
The
Texas Assessment of Knowledge and
Skills (TAKS) tests focus on an assessment
of academic skills. The TAKS tests
assess higher-order thinking skills
and problem-solving ability. Third
grade students must demonstrate mastery
of the reading portion to advance
to fourth grade. An individual must
demonstrate mastery of each section
of the exit-level examination to
be eligible to receive a high school
diploma. Students across Texas annually
take the TAKS.
