Projects Underway

Nancy H. Strickland Intermediate School - $14.9 million.  This new intermediate school is located on Fyke Road in Farmers Branch.  It will relieve crowded conditions at several schools in Farmers Branch and Carrollton. Construction started in mid-2007 with completion scheduled for the summer of 2008.

Creekview High School - $12 million.  Creekview High School was originally constructed in 1998 and has now grown to its full capacity. This project will address classrooms, fine arts and athletics. Planning began in the summer of 2006 with completion scheduled for late 2008. 

Donald H. Sheffield Primary School - $3.5 million. This project will provide for additional classroom space for current enrollment and future growth. Planning began in late 2006 with completion scheduled for summer 2008. 

Furneaux Elementary School - $3.5 million. This project will provide for additional classroom space for current enrollment and future growth. Planning began in late 2006 with completion scheduled for the summer of 2008.  

Charles M. Blalack Middle School - $9.5 million. This project will upgrade several areas in the school including athletics and fine arts. Planning is essentially complete with construction planned to begin in the spring of 2008.

DeWitt Perry Middle School - $9.6 million. This project will include some renovation and a small addition to the building. Planning has just begun and no definite schedule has been established.

Country Place Elementary - $7.7 million. This project will include a new cafeteria and main entrance as well as renovation to much of the building. Planning is complete with construction scheduled to begin in the spring of 2008.      

Technology - $40 million. The district will continue the implementation of its technology plan including: continuation of the Beyond Hardware Initiative (BHI) carts for the classrooms, student computers, wireless technology, telephony, and more.
