RLT Senior One of Twenty in State to Receive TASSP Honor

R. L. Turner senior, Taylor Poydence, has been selected by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) as a member of the TASSP All-State Academic Excellence Team. The award recognizes Texas high school seniors for their outstanding academic achievements and the rewards of superior scholarship. Many seniors were nominated by their high school principals across Texas based on their SAT or ACT scores, academic grade point average, pursuit of advance diploma and other evidence of exceptional academic ability.

Each nominee was asked to write a 300-500 word essay to submit with the application. From the group of over 150 scholars, twenty were chosen state-wide for the TASSP All State Academic Excellence Team. Poydence will be awarded a $500 scholarship and formally recognized at the TASSP Summer Workshop in Austin, TX on Jun. 14.
