“I would like to congratulate Dr. Rob Parks, Percussion Director at Newman Smith High School, for his most recent accomplishment. Watching his work hard over my time in the Newman Smith Band has instilled a very strong work ethic within me. I might not have been the most talented or gifted, but the NSHS Band showed me what I can achieve with hard work. With this being said, I thought it would make him proud to hear that I am in my last semester of my undergrad career and now plan to pursue a degree in law. I cannot express in words how thankful I am for Dr. Parks. Everyday that I look towards the future, I take a second to remember the past, knowing that I would not have become the man I am today without you and the NSHS staff. Keep up the great work!”

On Jan. 28, R. L. Turner students showed their animals including sheep, rabbits and a pig at the Fort Worth Stock Show on Jan. 28. Showing their rabbits, Jackie Harvey-Campos took “Best at Show” & Marina Shelley placed second in her class.

“I am so blessed to live & work in this school district.”

“ECHS has nurtured my student’s academic success, because the staff have personally helped me encourage my student to stay organized and prepare for his later years in college. I love the AVID classes and how they are structured to keep the students organized, and focused on learning. They provide adequate services to keep my student on track when needed, with tutoring during lunch, after school, and Saturday school. Where necessary, my student is not babied. They hold him responsible for his own accountibility for his academics. This helps with maturity in life. Since I can’t speak to the College Professor’s the Principal makes it convenient for me to talk to her regarding my student’s status in their classes along with the college e-connect system.”

“At Early College High School there is less drama, and the teachers focus on you more.”
